Contractions
Mucus plug comes out
Back Ache
Urge to use the toilet
Waters breaking
WHEN TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL
Contractions last at least 60 seconds and or come every 5 minutes
If you are bleeding
When baby is not moving
You have a temperature over 38°C
Baby is not due for 2 weeks or more
If your waters broke more than 20 hours ago
COPING IN LABOUR
Bounce on a pregnancy ball
Drink lots!
Have a snack as soon as possible
Try relaxation and breathing exercises
Use a TENS machine
Have your partner rub your back
Take paracetamol
Have a warm bath
Keep changing positions (kneeling, walking around, rocking backwards and forwards)
