CERTAIN FOODS CAN BE LIFE THREATENING TO YOUR BABY, USE THE GUIDE TO KNOW WHAT FOODS TO AVOID WHEN PREGNANT

Most foods are safe to eat during pregnancy however foods with Listeria or vitamin A create more risk  to your baby.

FOODS TO AVOID

MEAT

  • Raw meats
  • Processed meats
  • All types of pâté
  • Game meats
  • Liver and liver products
  • Raw fish and shellfish
  • Smoked fish
  • High mercury fish

DAIRY

  • All soft cheeses
  • Eggs without British Lion stamp
  • Unpasteurised dairy products
  • Duck, goose and quail eggs
  • Soft ice cream (mr whippy)

VEG

  • Unwashed fruit and vegetables
  • Mung beans, alfalfa, clover, radish, bean sprouts
  • Vitamin A

DRINKS

  • Alcohol
  • Caffeinated drinks
  • Licorice root
  • More that 200mg caffeine per day
  • More that 4 cups herbal tea per day

  • Fats/oils
  • Salad dressings
  • Chocolate
  • Crisps
  • Biscuits
  • Pastries
  • Ice cream
  • Cake
  • Fizzy drinks
