TOASTED PITA

SNACKS

INGREDIENTS

  • Fillings (turkey, cheese, ham, egg mayo, beans)
  • Pita bread

METHOD

  • Cook fillings (if necessary)
  • Put pita in toaster for 1 min each side
  • Cut in half and put topping inside
  • Slice into small rectangles depending on child’s age

ROASTED CHICKPEAS

INGREDIENTS

  • 400g chickpeas
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian herb seasoning

METHOD

  • Drain chickpeas and put oo tray
  • Bake at 200°C for 15 mins
  • Put chickpeas in a bowl, add olive oil & herbs and mix
  • Put chickpeas back onto tray and bake at 200°C for another 15 mins

HUMMUS & VEG STICKS

INGREDIENTS

  • Hummus
  • Vegetables (pepper, cucumber, carrot)

METHOD

  • Cut vegetables into slices
  • Boil hard vegetables such as carrots
  • Break breadsticks in half
  • Add everything to a plate and add a small amount of hummus

YOGHURT BITES

INGREDIENTS

  • Fruit (raisins, strawberries, raspberries, banana)
  • Yoghurt

METHOD

  • Chop fruit into small piece and mix with yoghurt 
  • Put small amounts on a tray
  • Freeze for 4 hours

FRUIT COCKTAIL

INGREDIENTS

  • Fruit (grapes, apple, mango, peaches, pineapple, strawberries)
  • Fruit juice (apple, orange)

METHOD

  • Chop fruit into small pieces
  • Add all fruit to a bowl and pour over small amount of juice

PROTEIN WRAP

INGREDIENTS

  • Tortilla
  • Protein (beans, chicken, pork)
  • Sauce (curry, mayonnaise)

METHOD

  • Cook protein and shred
  • Toast tortilla and add filling
  • Wrap tightly and slice into smaller pieces
